Bed bugs don’t take holidays... unless they’re traveling to eat you!

So, how do these bugs get in your bed and everywhere else around your home? They don’t just appear one day! These bugs hitch hike or walk through the unusual places in search of a host— you and your family! Remember they are an insect that needs to feed to survive. It’s interesting how many people discover bed bugs in their home and say “I know where they came from”. In reality the introduction of a bed bug could have come from anywhere. They are hitchhikers, so you may have picked one up while you were out in public. They are often found in cars, buses, airplanes, restaurants, schools, doctors offices, hospitals, day care centers, your work, summer camps, and hotels. Maybe someone brought one to you when they visited. It’s hard to say.

We’ve visited homes of good folks like you who have made any of the following mistakes... and we don’t want you to make them, too!

  1. They throw out their bed, couch, or chairs.
  2. They rip up, remove, and replace their carpeting and padding.
  3. They replace all their clothing, and immediately put them into bedbug infested closets and dressers.
  4. They buy cheap insecticides which drive the bed bug deeper into their furnishings and building to avoid the chemicals.
  5. They try to rub everything down with alcohol. This creates a fire hazard.
  6. They put their clothes in the freezer.
  7. They run their clothes through the dryer for a regular dry cycle.
  8. They run their clothes through the dryer on high heat for several hours, but don’t treat anywhere else in their home. They then put these clothes back into their dressers and closets where the bed bugs already live.
  9. They think BED BUGS = INFESTED BED and don’t consider that bed bugs will harbor multiple places throughout their home.
  10. They do nothing.

Don’t take our word for it

It’s been 2-1/2 months of that blissful feeling of getting into bed with all of our uninvited guests. I brought the bed bugs home from working in-home care. It is not any one person’s fault — these guys are the hitchhikers from H _ _ _. We sprayed, bombed, powdered and turned the rooms upside down and picked bugs and put them into soapy water (soapy-otherwise they will swim right out). When we called and talked to Bill, we KNEW this was our solution. Of course it makes sense to heat the entire house. We even had a quote from a “large” corporation that said they would “treat” 4 rooms for a price 1/3 higher than Bill’s. If we had gone with Bill right away, we would have saved so much money in bombs, sprays, laundering, and mattress covers — but also time and aggravation. The house also felt so fresh after the treatment. Bill takes the time with you for you to feel comfortable in your decision. We left for the entire day and felt completely comfortable with Bill having the run of the house. Poor Bill, though. We had our home treated on the day of the first winter storm in November. That man spent longer hours at our place due to the extreme winds and cold. What a trooper. We would say that Bill is the type of person that we now call a friend. He is welcome at our home anytime.

Eliminate bed bugs as you welcome back campers

April 26, 2021

Camps across the country have been closed during the pandemic... and people can’t wait to return! Don’t assume that any bed bugs that survived your last treatment starved this past year— adult bed bugs have survived in laboratories without food for as long as 550 days and they will be hungry! As far as bed bugs are concerned, as we continue to return to business as usual— whatever that ends up looking like, you will be hosting a camp grand-re opening special for them: a potentially unlimited buffet of guests that will become their next meals.
